Ending the year with our longest EVER run
30 Dec 2016
After only two months of slowly building up our running training, today was the day we'd planned to end the year on a high. Today's run not only marked a great way to finish 2016, it was also the longest run either of us had ever completed - 14 miles in just over 2 hours!
A couple of weeks ago Phil set the challenge to run a half marathon, in training, before the end of the year. So we got up early, and in freezing fog, we set off. Visibility was less than 10 metres at Heathrow, just a couple of miles away, and the weather certainly made this a tougher challenge than aleady planned.
So why did we run 14 miles, in freezy fog, for fun!
On 23 April 2017 we're running the iconic Virgin Money London Marathon. We're running for Compassion, an amazing charity that works to release children from poverty, and money raised will help to build much needed classrooms in Uganda.
Over the next couple of months we'll be building up our training, and posting more about our progress and the work of Compassion — please look back and follow our journey.
